Set up the exact view you chose.

Help with Thread Lens, coordinated wallpaper pairs, matching widgets, one-at-a-time shortcut artwork and permanent purchases.

Choose a composition

Open a theme or Thread Lens and choose Full, Drift or Macro. Thread Lens lets you drag a split boundary and compare your chosen detail with the complete artwork before saving.

Save the wallpaper pair

  1. Tap Save Full + your chosen composition.
  2. Electric Loom saves Full for the Lock Screen and your selected view for the Home Screen.
  3. In Settings, open Wallpaper and apply the pair. Turn Home Screen Blur off to preserve the intended detail.

Add a matching widget

Touch and hold the Home Screen, choose Edit, then Add Widget. Search for Electric Loom and choose the matching theme and size. On iOS 17 or later, tap Shift Detail on the widget to cycle Full, Drift and Macro. On iOS 16, choose a composition in Thread Lens and tap Use in widget.

Set up one shortcut icon

Inside a theme, choose the function you are setting up and save only that matching image. In the Shortcuts app, create or open the matching shortcut, choose Add to Home Screen, select the saved image, check its name, then add it. Repeat only for functions you use. iOS does not let a theme app silently replace unrelated app icons.

Purchases and Restore Purchases

Ultramarine Surge is included. Solar Riot, Rose Voltage, Acid Canopy and Prism Night are permanent £0.99 unlocks. The complete five-theme collection is a permanent £2.99 unlock. There is no subscription.

If an unlock is missing, open Collection and tap Restore Purchases while using the same Apple Account as the original purchase.

Photos permission

Electric Loom requests add-only Photos access only when you save artwork. If permission was declined, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Electric Loom and allow add-only access. The app does not read or upload your photo library.

Compatibility

Electric Loom supports iPhone models running iOS 16 or later. Widget interaction requires iOS 17 or later; the in-app widget selector remains available on iOS 16. Wallpaper positioning and final Home Screen placement remain controlled by iOS.
